Mechanical & Electrical Parts Process (2)

My team finished cutting acrylic boards using a laser cutter. The tolerance is +-0.01''. The thickness of the board is 4 mm.

Body frame after assembly. This was much faster than assembling FDM printed parts due to the tolerance differences.

Y-axis plotter without the print head assembly.

I finished building the Y-axis plotter with the print head assembly. I used optical end stop, and end stop flag will be printed out using the lab 3D printer.

I started working on X-axis plotter, which will be assembled with Y-axis plotter eventually.

Y-axis system sitting on the frame. Because the body frame is transparent, I am excited to see the printer operating after the printer is fully build.

Future plan:

- Finish assembling X-axis plotter

- Work on the piston assembly when I receive the 624 bearings.

- Empty the cartridge and hack it with the inkshield

- Upload the firmware into the controller board
